Clarity. Courage. Fulfillment

I AM AN INDEPENDENT PSYCHOTHERAPIST AND COACH

Clarity, courage and fulfillment represent my attitude and vision that are guiding me both in my private and in my professional life.

#Clarity

Clarity is for me synonymous with the awareness of who I am. It conveys my capacity for introspection, to look inside myself, to explore what I feel and think. It extends to having the mindset of seeking to understand those around me, from family and friends to people I work with.

#Courage

Courage means for me to intentionally put myself in situations outside my comfort zone, both mentally and physically. It is to set goals to achieve, recognizing, and overcoming the limitations I encounter, and going on, not giving up. It stands for taking uncomfortable decisions when I need to and sticking with them by trusting my intuition and relying on it to take me forward in life. Courage is a good friend with the hope of creating something better in my life.

#Fulfillment

Fulfillment is the feeling I experience thanks to living my life in clarity and with courage. It is something that I experience when I close the gap between what I am and what I want to be while dealing with the frustrations that come along the way. Fulfillment is knowing to readapt on the way when there is no meaning anymore in pursuing my goal. It is sharing and celebrating my accomplishments with those close to me and if possible inspiring others to do so, too.

Closing the gap from who I was to who I am

Born in 1977, in a small city close to Bucharest, I spent my childhood mostly outside, with friends and neighbors, playing football with my brother’s friends, and climbing on unattended building sites. Being often in the countryside helped me establish a connection with nature from an early age. Thanks to that, today I highly value a healthy lifestyle and the freedom of movement.

In 2001 I graduated from Management, at the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest. It counts as one of my biggest successes since I have no talent for numbers. It was a study that increased my discipline and perseverance more than my knowledge about industrial management.

Starting from this point along with the experience I gained from working in corporations and smaller companies, I began to devote a lot of my time to understanding how we can have a balanced and healthy life. As result of my interest, I have studied a lot of productivity, time, and energy management programs. This information is very useful now for me and for the people I support in managing their stresses.

2001 was also the year I started my family. My personal experiences taught me a lot about the importance of love in a healthy relationship, about being a parent, about how to go through the ups and downs of a relationship, and how to make sense of such experiences. The last few years have been marked intensely by my desire to understand how relationships work, how to improve them, and how to make conscious decisions for both ourselves and those close to us.

In 2006 and 2008 my sons were born. Even before they were born, I started reading about children and human development. Preparation and knowledge are something that I value greatly. It is because of them that I am a psychotherapist today. My curiosity and determination to discover what is going on inside of their mind and how to support them and also me during those challenging times, led me to Sigmund Freud University where I studied psychotherapy science.

During 2010 – 2016, the years of studying psychotherapy science and family systemic therapy, I had some of my most exciting experiences, challenges, and successes. Ever since I have been in a continuous process of learning not only about myself but also about the human psyche and the dynamics of relationships. It has been of the most enriching and rewarding experiences of my life. One says that a psychotherapist can guide you as much as he or she knows himself. That is why I value a lot my work to know and understand myself, discover who I am in unknown situations.

Since 2014 I have been working in my private praxis in the first district of Vienna, first as a systemic psychotherapist under supervision, later as a licensed psychotherapist.

What I love most about my work is the diversity of the people I encounter in my office. Different social backgrounds and cultures, unique life experiences, distinct value systems, and personalities, all make my experience in working with people very exciting. I enjoy sharing my knowledge as much as I enjoy learning from my clients.

When I work with individuals I strive to always look beyond a diagnosis and instead to see the person with his/her unique narrative, how they reached that point and where they want to be.

With couples, my intention is to support partners in their process of improving their relationship by working on problems such as communication, sex, intimacy, decision making, parenting.

Part of my work is also to respect when couples decide they do not want to be together anymore, and they seek assistance for the separation process.

In all situations I strive to always be in a neutral position, to have a supportive role for both parts, to find the most collaborative approach that will work for them.

Finally, my goal as a psychotherapist is to bring professionalism, value, and knowledge to those who are seeking support, to offer new perspectives on life, and to help people on their way to being who they want to be.

MY PHILOSOPHY

My deep wish and curiosity to understand people have been my reason for choosing this study. Ever since I had started it, my life has been continuously enriching and I know, I took the right way.

Allow yourself to be you is the motto I have chosen to present my vision about psychotherapy. Why? Because I believe in each of us there are enough resources that could help us feel happier. In my vision, every person has an innate tendency toward self-actualisation and if the hindrances are eliminated, the individual can reach his/her full level of maturity, just like an oak grows from an acorn, the same our resources, if known and used, they can help us grow.

Inspired from many theories of the Happiness Psychology and strengthened by the solution focused techniques that Systemic Therapy training have offered me, my goal as psychotherapist is to accompany you on your way out of the difficult situations you may encounter. In this process, I am a trusted and respectful listener.

I know that small changes lead to big changes
